The
Bossie Chronicles
Curly and Pierre say, "That cow has got to GO!"
Bossie gets a soft spot in the trunk EARLY one July morning... her adventure begins. First Stop - Southern Pines, NC and a visit to Midland Country CLub where Bossie ponders the ninth green, thinking some cow already ate all the grass...
This is also home to the famous Roslyn's Restaurant. In Lakeville, CT, Bossie encounters two gigantic cats on the lawn of the Interlaken Inn. Little did she know, across the road waited an even larger moose! "Ah, the grass is always greener on the other side, " Bossie thinks as she gazes across the river at St. Stephens, New Brunswick while she stands on the Calais, Maine side in back of the International Motel. For those who love Italian food, check out Bernardini's in Calais. "Canada at last! YUK - that grass tastes funny!" That's seaweed, Bossie. Low tide on Passamaquoddy Harbor in St. Andrews, NB. "Peculiar Folk, these Canadians. They anchor their boats in the mud!" But, if Bossie is patient, she will see a very high tide come into the harbor at Alma, NB, part of the famous Bay of Fundy. Bossie and her kidnapper check into the Highlands Inn & Chalet, overlooking the Bay of Fundy in Alma. Doug and Donna welcome guests and their cows! "where are all the cows?" Bossie looks lonely at the famous wind farm at North Cape on Prince Edward Island. "This is more like it!" says Bossie to her boon companion, Sue Morrison, as they enjoy a chat in front of their cabin at Shaw's Hotel and Resort on Prince Edward Island. "Hay! At Last!" Bossie stands tall on a bale of hay in the field at Shaw's, overlooking Brackley Bay, with her new friend, Rowan Ballman of the Boston Area. He promised not to tell that she had escaped from America. "WOW! That's some cow!" Bossie hope to be as famous as her idol, the Giant Holstein, symbol of COWS, the famous Canadian ice cream store in Cavendish PEI. Bossie bets that Anne of Green Gables really liked the Holsteins. Bossie enjoys the flowers at the Quarterdeck Beachside Villas & Grill at Summerville Beach, Nova Scotia. A balmy fall day, followed by the arrival of Hurricane Jeanne! Bossie couldn't resist the hay, so she posed with a group at the annual Mahone Bay Scarecrow Festival, in early October. That concluded Bessie's Canadian adventure; then she boarded the CAT in Yarmouth, NS; sailed to Maine and stopped at Hemingway's wonderful restaurant in Killington, VT. before landing at the Glasbern Country Inn in Fogelsville, PA. Bossie enjoys the inn while her kidnappers are watching hawks migrate at nearby Hawk Mountain. "Why don't they want to play with me?" Bossie asks as she gazes through the fence at the famous Irish cattle at Glasbern. "Home at last - and look at all those new cars!" Bossie, covered with Canadian stickers, poses with her kidnapper at Dan Vaden's in Brunswick, GA. She's still a loyal GM cow! "Hummm," I wonder what they call this car? Maybe John Thompson would let my friends borrow this one to take me on another splendid trip."
